Very nice! It's got a bit of a Shogo Sakai feel to it and a pretty bluesy feel as well.
Also reminds me a bit of Jun Funahashi!

MasterMarioMX responds:

thanks man! these things tend to be a Little like this.

Very nicely done, it reminds me of some post-DOS era games like the very early Elder Scrolls games.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was the way some distortion crops up around 0:22 and 0:30. Not sure if it was intentional, but it works very nicely for the atmosphere you've got going there. In fact, I might suggest using more of that in this track. Don't get too comfortable with it though, too much and you've got something that just sounds grimy, and it definitely won't work for every track you make.
Great job, keep it up!

bp-abby responds:

The dissonance was intentional. Thank you for your kind review!

It's hard to go wrong with a tune like this and I feel you really did it justice!
I enjoyed the choice of instruments in particular.

Shit! I love this song and I never thought I would see a legitimate (using a tracker) 8-bit cover of it.
Very well done and a great way to start the new year.
Through the dark to the light, brother.

One of the best tracks from that game.
Also probably one of the most overlooked video game songs for its level of quality.

This song made me think of a strange combination of Kingdom Hearts (with the way the harmonies work) and Minecraft (the peacefulness)

It seems more cinematic than game to me, but it's still quite nice.
With that in mind, maybe it could work for an Elder Scrolls type game...

bassfiddlejones responds:

I agree, I think. Sadly we are quite confined in regard to placing audio in the proper genre, so it got lumped into "Video Game". Glad you liked the piece! :)

Very very nice! Would love to hear more like that. Also, props for doing this on Famitracker, I have so much trouble working with that software.

Very nice. Some parts reminded me a bit of Phoenix Wright :D
Let's see... For the most part it was really nice, it seemed a bit hollow in parts (as if it were missing another instrument or something) particularly just before the end section and after the middle.

Stavier responds:

Yeah sorta, I meant to just make this a more catchy/subtle type of 8-bit song. Thanx for da review!!!

Happy birthday to you too
